3_ed sentences based on The Tunnel (1 week)

Resource Description

3_ed sentences are very good at describing the emotional state of the character. Here is a week of resources to assist children using them in their writing.

The lessons are based around 'The Tunnel' by Anthony Browne. (A PowerPoint with the story included can be found online)

Lesson 1.Collect a bank of scary adjectives using a thesaurus. (Useful when writing sentences during the week.)
Lesson 2. Collect a bank of 'ed' words.
Lesson 3. Children write their own 3_ed sentences using a framework. (Helps children to understand the structure of the sentence.)
Lesson 4. Edit 3_ed sentences. (Develops children's understanding of the sentence structure.)
Lesson 5. Children end the week by writing a paragraph about Rose that must include a 3_ed sentence.
