Capital cities quiz

Capital cities quiz

A teaching resource provided by Mike Fletcher.

Resource Description

This powerpoint is a quiz on capital cities combined with an added element of competition as it includes the opportunity to combine some maths. At the beginning is an image of a dartboard so students could use soft objects to throw or even use a safety dartboard separately. Students then pick a number to answer a question on capital cities. There are 10 easy (1 to 10) 10 medium (11 to 20) and 10 hard (21 to 30) Get the answer right and you keep the points!

Students need to able add their score from three darts including doubles and trebles and then answer the question. Once a question has been answered correctly that number should not be allowed again. In other words all 30 cities need to be named for the quiz ,or as many as time allows.

The powerpoint could be edited using the same format by changing the question and answer boxes.

I have used this quiz with a dartboard with students from almost all year group as a starter activity and as a revision aid and it has always been great fun!

I hope you like it too
