Long Division is tough, and the kids find it quite frustrating (let alone us teaching it!).
Here are some 'Show Me Loop cards' for simple division and multiplication which is an activity to get the whole class involved.
Great as a starter or plenary, each child will have one card and will need to read there number e.g I am 60 and then their question. The person with that answer then stands and reads their number until the whole class has said their card. The kids love this and you can even time them to see if they can beat their previous time!
I have included some differentiated long division challenge cards - these are division questions which get the children to use the bus stop and long division method. Please have a look at my Long Division success criteria and acronym resources to help the class remember how to do it!
Red = easier questions (2 digit numbers)
Blue = harder questions ( 2 and 3 digit numbers)
Green = super challenge questions (up to 4 digit numbers)
This is ideal for a year 6 class (I used these resources for my bottom set)
